THE BTC


Each training is divided into practical parts as well as theoretical parts. During the first year, you will get to know all the technical areas of BTC. Each module takes three months. After passing the exam, you will receive a certificate for each module. This certificate enables you to apply within the economy. The certificate confirms that you have gained first basic knowledge in the field. During the second year at BTC, you will be able to specialize in one of the technical areas. This year is also divided into practical and theoretical parts. Traineeships within the economy complete the training.

In the third year, you will reach the educational level of German vocational education. After the third year, an exam which follows German standards will take place. After successfully passing the exam, you will be entitled to carry out a professional title.

University of applied sciences entrance qualification at BTC

With the passed educational training (three years at the BTC) or with the university entrance qualification of another school in Somaliland, you are enabled to attend the one-year technical college. After this year, with a successful degree, you are entitled to attend a University of applied sciences.

Vocational training of the technical college in projects

The educational training of the technical college takes place on a project-related basis. As an example: The first project  involves the production of metalic structures (such as the use of solar panels or lattice masts which can run a wind turbine).

Another project includes the installation of solar systems on the metalic structures or the installation of rotor heads on the lattice masts in order to generate energy through wind power.

Knowledge in the fields of metal- and synthetic techniques, electrical engineering and propulsion techniques is being imparted.
